Alot of folks have crotch-rocket experience, or they've done some cruising on big V-Twins. I think what they really men by "power" is high end power. A while back someone did the math on the thrust to weight ratio issue. Bottom line is that Sportsters (stock) can't stay with the Savage for a while.... Of course, after a while, many bikes can keep on accelerating whereas the Savage will top out (I've got her up to about 85, and I don't care to go faster). The other issue is that there are alot more out-of-the-box mods for other bikes, so you can stretch them further. The little thumper doesn't have a lot you can do to it...
